Thank you all for your proposals! We had a very tough time of it narrowing them down given the high quality of abstracts this year, but we have now confirmed that our speakers for this year’s Norse in the North conference are:

Giles Knox (Durham, MA) – ‘Anarchy at the Alþing: The Politics of Egill Skallagrímsson’

Valerie Legg (Leeds, MA) – ‘The Passion and Miracles of the Blessed Óláfr: A Critical Analysis’

Tom Spray (Durham, PhD) – ‘Hlíðarendi: A Victorian Nationalist Ideal’

Heidi Stoner (York, PhD) – ‘Rough Stones: Sculpture in the Early Medieval Insular World’
